20th Century Customs is a small project which was founded in May 2024. 20CC specialises in custom vintage painting for leather jackets, primarily spanning from the 1930s - 1990s. From band slogans and musical artwork to historical aviator designs or your own ideas which we're happy to closely work on with you.
How was 20th Century Customs created?
20th Century Customs was created by vintage fashion enthusiast, disc jockey and self-taught artist, Max Barber.
The idea for custom leather jackets spawned from Max's fascination of the New Romantic movement during the late 1970s / early 80s. The Electronic, New Wave & Post-Punk music played in the clubs before and after were a huge influence - as well as observing the fashions worn by club-goers, such as original 1930s - 50s clothing.
Having already been a part of the 21st century vintage scene, enjoying a combination of 1930s ballroom, 1940s Swing and 50s Rock 'N Roll - the mix was perfect.
Having seen Second World War aviation, Rockabilly and Punk all featuring marvellous jacket emblems, combined with an artistic hobby - the flame was lit. Featuring all of these decades in paint would require a name which would cover the entirety of the previous century - therefore 20th Century Customs came into being.

20th Century Customs can cover any decade of emblem, not to discriminate against any enquiries for modern designs, which can easily be discussed.
